CPR & First aid a plus:  Always a bonus with parents especially with young children.  These classes can be taken with Red Cross.  We will have Red Cross do aspecial class for Lamorinda Babysitters if we have enough sitters that want to take the class.  This class will be paidfor directly by each sitter. You can also sign up at redcross.com to take class and let us know if you have taken the class by sending a copy of your certification card.

Pay recommendations:

Mommy helpers (parent usually around) $5-$8 hour  11-14 years

         A young sitter who just helps you out while you get things done around the house.  This is a pre-teen/teen learning the ropes of what  

         skills the parents want a their babysitters to accomplish. 

High school $10-$12 hour  14 - 18 years

       Babysitter stay with the kids, play, work on homework, make sure things are put away when used, light snacks or meals.  Chores if kids  

       sleeping or on play date. 

College /Adult $12-$15 hour  18 - up years

​       Pick up at school transport to activities and sports, homework help, cooking, laundry, playing games and activities, cleaning up and putting

        things away.  A few chores if kids on play date or sleeping. ​

Adult Nanny $15-$20 hour (add $2 for each child after 2)

Preschool teacher $20 - $25 hour

While many private and public schools do require school uniforms, many do not. But that doesn't mean anything goes. For the most part, schools ask the students follow the general guidelines below.

We ask the same of our sitters: Avoid clothing with vulgar words, sayings or illustrations. Avoid skirts or shorts that are short enough to reveal buttiocks when playing with children or engaging in activities. Avoid clothing that is too tight or sexually suggestive clothing worn in such a manner so as to reveal underwear, cleavage.

Next step After Application process:

1. Verification of application: reference checks, verify workhistory, experience level with children, ​character check on younger applicants.

2. Background checks on 18 and older sitters

3. Face to face interview: character screening and desire to work with kids Once approved sitter is added to the call sheet for when clients need Babysitting.

4. Once a sitter is approved they are put on the call sheet for clients.  If the clients really like you you will be added to their favorites and you will be called first when they need a sitter.
